Investing in the Future of Farming
It was a real pleasure to visit CLAAS UK — one of our area’s major local employers — and explore their impressive Apprenticeship Academy, which is helping to shape the future of farming by equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive in the agricultural sector.
From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the state-of-the-art facilities and the clear commitment to innovation, sustainability, and skills development. CLAAS is not only investing in cutting-edge machinery and technology, but also in the people who will operate, maintain, and lead the industry in the years to come.
The Apprenticeship Academy offers a brilliant pathway into the sector, giving young people hands-on experience, specialist training, and a real sense of pride in the essential work they do to feed the nation and care for the land.
Agriculture has always been a vital part of life in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket, and it’s inspiring to see a global business like CLAAS working so closely with local communities to develop talent and drive progress.
A huge thank you to the team at CLAAS UK for showing me around and sharing your vision. I look forward to seeing how your work continues to grow and support the next generation of agricultural leaders.
